A truth to ponder?

“Our frustration is greater when we have much and want more than when we have nothing and want some. We are less dissatisfied when we lack many things than when we seem to lack but one thing.” – Eric Hoffer

I have been irritated at my own emotions lately, disappointed in how easily I get frustrated when things don’t go my way, plans change, or I feel like I’ve been wronged in some way. And in my frustration I can recognize there is more to gain in remaining calm and not letting things get to me; so why do I feel the way I do?

I don’t know the answer to it, but I found the quote above and it intrigues me. Could it be a significant factor to my frustration is simply selfishness and entitlement? In any case, I thought it an interesting quote to mull over.

Happy peace-making, friends.
